This is a notebook designed for (hopefully) better learning experience. An effective learner has to wear multiple hats to make the most out of each lesson.
- The first hat is the scientist’s. The goal here is to acquire knowledge, so you have to be exact. Be thorough. Look for evidence. Cold hard facts. Proof. Things that are measurable. Things that are hard to argue with.
- The second hat is the traveler’s. This is where you have to get yourself ready to adapt to a new way of thinking if needed. Be open to new things. Lose your prejudice. Be prepared for a new mindset.
- And the last is the chef’s hat. Get your hands dirty. Practice. Get really good at doing things. Thinking things. This is going to take time. Probably a lot of it before you actually get better.
When you’re done with the Lecture Note and put down all the hats, what’s left is you. You and a mirror. This is where you move to the second part: Reflection Note. (Don’t worry about your messy hair, there will be a comb waiting for you as well.)
This 180-page notebook is divided into 8 lesson notes with the same structure:
- Part 1: Lecture Note
1.1. Knowledge: 3 pages
1.2. Mindset: 3 pages
1.3. Skillset: 4 pages
- Part 2: Reflection Note
2.1. Reflection on the Lecture: 2 pages
2.2. Self-reflection: 1 page
We all know it’s important to wear multiple hats in life, not just as a learner but as anyone, in any situation. The good news is, we can. It just takes a constant reminder, and a lot of practice.
We hope you can always get the most important things out of the lessons you take (hopefully with this notebook).
