THIS IS A DECK OF CARDS CREATED TO GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS OF DESIGN THINKING
Have you ever tried to solve a problem but you didn’t know where to start? Or tried to solve a problem only to realize that it wasn’t really a problem after all. (It was just your assumptions all along.) Or loved an idea so much you forgot to give other ideas a chance to prove that they might work better under a particular circumstance. This design thinking box can help you with that (and a lot more if you commit to it). It can help you better define a problem, check your assumptions and generate more ideas (that might actually work).
As you might have heard, designing thinking is a process used to creatively solve problems based on human insights. It contains 5 non-linear steps that are actually much messier in reality, but it gives you a framework (so you don’t feel overwhelmed and end up creating more chaos). Design thinking is also a way of thinking. It forces you to be empathetic, open-minded, patient and objective. It teaches you to work with yourself, how you think, how you think you think, how you react and how you act. Not matter how much self-awareness you have, there’s always more.
- Step 1: Gather information to deeply understand the complexity of the problem
- Step 2: Analyze information to define the real problem that should be solved
- Step 3: Generate many many many ideas to get to a few good ones
- Step 4: Develop prototypes to test the best ideas you have
- Step 5: Test your prototypes (and all your assumptions) to collect wisdom and start again
We hope this deck will help you discover that you are capable of so much more, to improve your work, and most importantly, to illuminate yourself in the process. Because you, “you are the greatest project you will ever work on.”
